DOGHOLE

When I was a girl, I had this strong feeling that I didn’t belong anywhere

DOGHOLE was performed as apart of Underground Theatre Company’s mainstage season, Sydney University Dramatic Society’s Mainstage season and Old Fitz New Works Festival in 2024

SYNOPSIS

DOG thinks all writers are bad. DOG thinks Tim Winton isn’t that great of an author. DOG thinks they have the next big hit under their fingers, it’s messy, it’s dark, it’s all about country and they know it’s going to be big.

But DOG knows it's a bit hard to write a book with no characters and no plot. DOG knows that normal writers don’t get haunted by the ghosts of dead authors who insist they’re doing this writing thing wrong. DOG knows that normal writers don’t find the world of fiction and reality crossing over until they’re not sure what's a line in a book or an event in real life. DOG knows this, they really do. But that’s just another hurdle in their race to be the next big thing.

And no man, no school disco, no taking dead playwrights, no glitter showers, and no pretty girls will get in their way of that. That’s for sure.
